My card is ready — what do I need for pickup?
You must collect in person. Required: original passport, your previous NIE card (if lost, bring the police report), and an appointment booked on the official site (POLICIA - RECOGIDA DE TARJETA DE IDENTIDAD DE EXTRANJERO (TIE)). What is the difference between NIE and TIE in Spain?
NIE (Número de Identidad de Extranjero) is the identity number assigned to foreign residents in Spain — it's a number. TIE (Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero) is the physical residence card that carries that number. You first receive your NIE, then get fingerprinted to produce the TIE card. This page checks the production status of your TIE.
How often is the lote data updated?
SCLT updates lote data regularly across all offices in Spain. What you see is the latest published batch number at each foreigners office (oficina de extranjería). Processing pace varies — some offices advance weekly, others may take weeks between updates. SCLT tracks every change and calculates the trend.
